Senior Software Engineer Opportunity

Location: Bromley, South of London

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our client's small but world-class Engineering team in Bromley, South of London. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in .Net/C# development, with experience in real-time environments, high-frequency data, and event-based architectures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and support of new and existing time-critical applications.
  • Collaborate with the team to design and implement innovative products.
  • Perform hands-on bug fixing, development, and testing across the entire environment.
  • Ensure that development is rigorous and conforms to the process requirements of the business.
  • Ensure code quality through commenting, unit testing, and documentation.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of Full Stack experience with .Net based development using C#.
  • Experience with developing and supporting distributed event-based architectures built around message buses and event streams.
  • Experience with consuming and processing high-frequency data in real-time or near-real-time environments.
  • At least 2 years of experience with cloud services, preferably AWS, but Azure and GCP are also acceptable.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and NoSQL databases such as Mongo/DocumentDB.
  • Fluent working knowledge of LINQ and associated functional programming practices in the C# environment.
  • Experience with microservice architectures and containerization (Docker).
  • Experience with writing and maintaining unit, integration, E2E, and regression tests and test suites.
  • Experience with application metrics and monitoring using tools such as Prometheus/Grafana/Cloudwatch.
  • Familiarity with code source control such as GIT.
  • Good understanding of CI/CD practices and AGILE development philosophies.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent commercial experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • Flexibility to work in the office (Bromley) ideally 3 days per week and travel to global destinations for 10 days at a time to provide in-person technical support (occurs 4 times per year).
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support project timelines and deliver efforts on time.
  • Salary circa £60,000 - £70,000 (DoE) + benefits.
