About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Consultant to join our Data and Analytics Service team at NHS National Services Scotland. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the strategic direction for better use of data to support service delivery and outcomes across Scotland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the architecture, design, development, and implementation of innovative data, BI, and analytics solutions.
  • Make key design and engineering decisions and assess and manage the risk involved.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to technical delivery teams.
  • Ensure quality of developments, and smooth transition to BAU.
  • Ownership of design and development processes and standards.
  • Pro-actively contribute to technical strategy and service improvement.
  • Stakeholder and user engagement.
  • Assess, scope, and estimate demand.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience of planning and leading the design, development, and implementation of innovative data, BI, and analytics solutions.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience of Data Solutions Architecture.
  • Thorough knowledge of building data products (incl. ETL/ELT).
  • Technical Leadership experience, including strong and effective communication skills, and stakeholder engagement and management skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Passion to make a difference.
  • Desire to excel within a high-performing team.
  • Appetite for lifelong learning and growth.
  • Ability to constructively challenge, and to confidently lead the overall success of a service.
  • Interested in a wide range of topics with willingness to dive deeper into the detail when required.
