Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our client's team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with young people with complex needs, supporting their educational and personal development. The position is initially temporary and potentially permanent based on performance and school needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist teachers in planning and implementing lessons tailored to individual student needs.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students.
  • Help create a safe and engaging classroom environment.
  • Support students with special educational needs and behavioural challenges.
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour support.
  • Prepare learning materials and resources.
  • Supervise students during break times and school activities.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role/life experience with SEND is highly desirable.
  • A passion for working with young people and supporting their educational journey.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the school.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • A DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Backgrounds in a nursery, care, support work, volunteering, etc with transferable skills are advantageous.
