Cambridge-based Deputy Head of English Teacher Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Head of English Teacher to join our thriving department at an outstanding mixed school in Cambridge. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for teaching English at KS3 and KS4 levels, contributing to curriculum development, and mentoring colleagues.

About the Role

  • Teach English at KS3 and KS4 levels, delivering engaging lessons that cater to diverse student needs
  • Contribute to the development of curriculum plans, ensuring they meet the requirements of the National Curriculum
  • Mentor and support colleagues, promoting a culture of excellence within the department
  • Participate in ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date with best practices in education

Requirements

  • BA or MA in English or a related field, with a strong background in teaching and education
  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and a formal teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE)
  • A proven track record of success in teaching English, with excellent subject knowledge and pedagogical skills
  • The ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
