About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Practitioner to join our Family Safeguarding Service in Preston. This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term position that offers a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with families to safeguard children.

The successful candidate will have a Recognised Core Mental Health Professional Qualification (e.g. RMN, SW, OT) and experience in delivering evidence-based psychosocial interventions in a time-limited framework. They will also have a strong focus on assessment and treatment for parents of children open to the Family Safeguarding Service who have identified mental health difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver specialist assessment and treatment for parents of children open to the Family Safeguarding Service
  • Work collaboratively with families to safeguard children and provide preventative early intervention
  • Develop and implement evidence-based psychosocial interventions in a time-limited framework
  • Contribute to the Multidisciplinary Team in Preston, working with children social workers, child and family practitioners, substance misuse workers, and domestic abuse workers
