Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Handbag Department: Drive the growth and success of our handbag auctions, aligning with the Directors' targets.
  • Authenticate and Value: Provide expert authentication and valuation for luxury handbags and accessories, both in person and online.
  • Consign and Catalogue: Manage consignments to auction, ensuring accurate listings and production of auction catalogues.
  • Customer Interaction: Assist potential buyers via telephone, email, and in-person, providing detailed condition reports and additional media as needed.
  • Team Management: Supervise and support the Handbag and Accessories Assistant, ensuring smooth departmental operations.
  • Coordinate with Teams: Work closely with the photography team, external printing companies, and the Marketing Department to promote and execute successful auctions.
  • Legal Compliance: Ensure the department complies with all legal requirements.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven experience in authenticating luxury handbags and designer goods.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of designer brands and current market trends.
  • Customer Service: Exceptional customer service skills, comfortable interacting with individuals at all levels.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Commercial Awareness: Keen awareness of the fashion industry and market trends.
  • Proactive Attitude: Personable and proactive with a 'can do' attitude, taking pride in the quality of work.

Fellows Auctioneers is a family-run firm of auctioneers and valuers based in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter and Mayfair in London. We are one of the UK's most established auction houses, with a focus on luxury watches, designer brands, and unique pieces of jewellery. We hold regular specialist auctions, around 6 every month.
