Job Summary: Butler Ross is seeking a skilled Project Buyer to join our team on a permanent basis. As a Project Buyer, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process for our client in the engineering sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Negotiating and Managing Supplier Contracts: You will negotiate favourable terms with suppliers and manage contracts throughout their lifecycle.
- Project Procurement Planning: You will update project procurement plans on cost and delivery, and work closely with the project team to ensure successful project delivery.
- Supplier Performance Management: You will regularly report to the Project Manager on the performance of subcontractors and/or suppliers.
- Commercial Support: You will support, challenge, and advise stakeholders to ensure the best commercial outcomes are delivered in line with the project.
- Risk Management: You will identify critical/safety-related long lead items, determine and ensure sufficient early supplier engagement to minimize downstream risks, and recommend an appropriate subcontracting strategy.
- Supply Chain Risk Management: You will assess, manage, and mitigate subcontractor/supplier risks that could contribute to supply chain disruptions.
- Tender Support: You will support tenders as and when required, engaging with the supply chain through early supplier/partner engagement in a formal tendering process to ensure on-time and high-quality responses for bid input.
- Continuous Improvement: You will work with the wider procurement team to develop and execute Continuous Improvement Activities.
Requirements:
- Experience: You will have experience in a procurement/purchasing position with direct hands-on supplier management responsibilities in a technical manufacturing/engineering environment.
- Education: You will have a relevant degree or equivalent experience.
- Skills: You will have strong negotiation, communication, and project management skills.
