About This Opportunity

Z ero Corp LTD is seeking a skilled Academic Finance Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential financial support to our Finance Manager, ensuring accurate and efficient financial management and control.

Key Accountabilities

  • Raise sales invoices and manage credit control to optimize cash flow and minimize bad debt.
  • Manage Academy income, including processing purchase orders, matching purchase invoices, and making payments by BACS.
  • Process other income and expenditure in accordance with the Academy's Financial Procedures, maintaining accurate records and reports.
  • Contribute to the preparation and submission of VAT returns, adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of bank and credit card transactions, identifying any discrepancies or errors.
  • Input journals as required on the accounting system, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
  • Review and verify timesheets of agency staff, inputting on the system and reconciling back to invoices.
  • Maintain and update the service and supplier contracts register, ensuring all necessary documentation is up-to-date.
  • Update and maintain the fixed assets register, tracking and valuing assets throughout their lifecycle.
  • Coordinate facility hire activities, drafting and issuing hire agreements to ensure seamless operations.
  • E nsure the Academy retains all necessary documentation and evidence for internal and external auditors, maintaining a high level of transparency and accountability.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in finance management, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of financial procedures and regulations, including VAT returns.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
