General Manager, Theatres, Critical Care Pre-Op Assessment

We are seeking an experienced and skilled General Manager to lead our Theatres and Critical Care Directorate at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Divisional Management Team, you will be responsible for providing operational leadership and management to the designated Directorate and its associated workforce and services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Directorate, ensuring alignment with Trust and Divisional objectives.
- Develop and implement effective governance and quality improvement initiatives to ensure the highest standard of clinical care is delivered.
- Lead the development and implementation of business plans and service developments, ensuring compliance with national and local standards.
- Collaborate with the Divisional Management Team to promote effective governance and ensure that all clinical and non-clinical performance indicators, targets, and objectives are met.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of Divisional and Trust clinical service strategies, corporate, and divisional objectives.
- Lead on behalf of the DDO, the design and implementation of a robust Performance Management reporting system for the Directorate.
- Support the investigation of complaints, incidents, PALS enquiries, and near misses, ensuring that issues arising from the investigation are suitably addressed and used as an opportunity to improve and learn within services.
- Contribute to the formulation, planning, and development of long-term Strategic and Operational Business Plans for specific clinical and non-clinical areas in line with Divisional and Trust priorities.
- Lead and support the Division to achieve robust lines of authority, delegation, and accountability within the areas of designated responsibility.
- Support and lead improvement projects as part of the Patient First Kaizen programme.
