About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our outstanding Stroke team, providing expert care to patients in need of advanced rehabilitation services. As a valued member of our multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to rotate between Hyper-acute and Stroke rehabilitation in-patient services, working closely with colleagues to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients.
Your expertise will be utilised to provide Physiotherapy assessments and interventions, supervising junior staff members and students on placement. You will also contribute to service development, data collection, and audit initiatives, ensuring a smooth transition from hospital to community settings. Contribution to weekend working and respiratory on-call is essential.
Main Duties and Responsibilities- Work within the In-Patient Stroke Physiotherapy Service clinical setting, undertaking advanced assessments and treatments of complex stroke patients.
- Develop specialist treatment plans, maintaining records as an autonomous practitioner, and contributing to data collection for local and national audits.
- Lead assessment, liaison, and decision-making processes for patients, managing a significant clinical caseload to a high professional standard.
- Support the team lead and service manager in planning, coordination, and evaluation of the MSK Physiotherapy Service, deputising for the Band 7 in their absence.
- Supervise and teach junior members of the team, students on placement, and participate in weekend working and respiratory on-call rota.
