Estimated Salary: £20,000-£25,000 per annum

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced SEN support assistant to join our team. As a special educational needs teaching assistant, you will be responsible for supporting students with varied needs in a primary and secondary setting.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting students with academic tasks and encouraging them to reach their potential
  • Adapting materials and activities to suit individual needs
  • Maintaining flexibility and adapting to quick-changing situations
  • Effectively communicating with pupils who have varied needs
  • Keeping relevant records and writing reports when required
  • Ensuring the highest level of safety and safeguarding at all times
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant experience working with children or adults who have SEN
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • A strong understanding of SEN and/or SEMH, and how varied these needs can be
  • An ability to remain calm under pressure and effectively handle crisis situations
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed about best practices in mental health support for students
