About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced senior nurse to join our dynamic team at the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) at Torbay Hospital. As a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse, you will play a key role in coordinating the unit and supporting staff to ensure seamless delivery of service.

Main Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the unit to maintain flow and patient journey
  • Participate in the assessment of care needs of clients and develop, implement, and evaluate care
  • Act as a skilled member of the multi-disciplinary team
  • Work as part of the Urgent Care team, promoting good interdepartmental relationships
  • Act as clinical advisor on nursing issues to ensure high standards of care are maintained
  • Participate in direct care and facilitate sound discharge planning

The Acute Medical Unit (AMU) at Torbay Hospital is a busy and friendly unit with a high turnover of patients. We work closely with the Emergency Department caring for a diverse group of acutely unwell medical patients. Our team is committed to providing high-quality care and promoting patient dignity.
