About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Product Safety Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our Safety & Environmental Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our products throughout the design process.

Your primary duties will include attending and reporting to Daily Stand Up Meetings, designing safety products, and working within a centralized modelling tool. You will also be responsible for supporting non-safety experienced members of the wider team to achieve desirable safety outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Attend and report to Daily Stand Up Meetings (DSUM)
  2. Design safety products, including risk reduction and analysis
  3. Apply a systems engineering approach to safety products
  4. Work within a centralized modelling tool
  5. Support non-safety experienced team members
  6. Prepare safety assessments and design safety justification
  7. Provide safety SME to product design and gate reviews
  8. Develop and maintain a healthy product safety culture
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of UK Defence Standards and publications, as well as safety analysis techniques such as FHA, FTA, ETA, FMEA, and STPA. You will also need to have a STEM degree and experience in product safety within a regulated industry.
