Job Overview

The People Change Advisor will join a newly won contract supporting a utilities service engineering project for TVS Supply Chain Solutions. Operating from two existing distribution centers, there is a transformation project to move the existing operations and merge them into new purpose-built state-of-the-art facilities.

The role of the People Change Advisor is to join an existing HR function, supported by a wider central services HR team. Primary elements of the role include supporting collective consultations with trade unions and delivery of the people plan in place to support the transformation. In addition to the people change aspects, there will be a requirement to assist managers by providing advice and support to achieve business objectives and ensuring best practice with regards to HR policies and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transformation Planning: Work in partnership with the Head of HR to create people plans to support the transformation activity, including communications and engagement plans, and people change and consultations.
  • Employee Relations: Support with employee relations issues, TUPE, training, restructures, and any other HR issues as required.
  • People Change Management: Ensure that people change packs and consultation material are up to date and maintained, including people tracker and role matching data.
  • Recruitment and Induction: Work in partnership with Line Managers and Talent Acquisition team during recruitment and induction phases, offering advice on individual performance management issues, ensuring alignment with wider TVS approach, and ensuring local training is consistent.
  • Absence Management: Ensure effective monitoring of sickness trends and remedial action in accordance with policy and to facilitate a proactive approach to absence management to ensure a smooth return to work.
  • Trade Union and Employee Relations: Establish a working relationship with the Trade Union and Employee Representatives through joint working groups and formal consultation process.
  • Organizational Change: Support the Head of HR with any re-structuring or organizational changes aligned to the transformation.
  • Communications: Ensure that all communications, including Q&As, are timely and have positive language and consistent narrative. Support in the creation of comms packs.
  • Pulse Surveys: Deliver pulse surveys and support in the creation of action plans.
  • Appraisals and Objectives: Monitor appraisals and objectives received and follow up with Line Managers.
  • HR Shared Service: Work in partnership with HR shared service to deploy business-wide initiatives, training, policy reviews, and ER case load, being the point of contact for more complex case load.
  • Employee Benefits: Promote the Employee Benefits Programme, including private healthcare, GIP, GLA, Health Awareness, and Holiday Buy Back.
Requirements
  • CIPD Qualification: CIPD qualified or equivalent experience with a good understanding of current Employment Law.
  • Generalist HR Experience: Generalist HR exposure in an operational context.
  • Employee Relations Experience: Previous experience of managing employee relations in a Unionized environment with existing collective agreements.
  • TUPE Experience: Previous experience of transitioning a cohort of people through or post TUPE transfer would be an advantage but is not essential.
  • Redundancy Experience: Previous experience of handling redundancy situations, applying methodology of suitability and reasonableness.
  • People Change Management: People change management, such as relocations.
  • IT Competency: High level of IT competency in Microsoft Office.
  • Problem-Solving: Proven problem-solving mindset and attitude.
  • Commercial Awareness: Commercial awareness.
  • Communication Skills: Proven effective communication skills at all levels.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational/administration skills.
