Health and Social Care Specialist

About the Role
The Central Bedfordshire Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our Adult Social Care Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting and developing the day-to-day operation of the team, working closely with the Team Manager to oversee the continuous improvement of our practice.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have significant experience in Health and/or Social Care, including multi-disciplinary and inter-agency working. You will be able to transfer your skills to achieve our goal of delivering excellent person-centred approaches. You will value the impact of sound evidence-based practice and understand that best practice results in best value.
Main Responsibilities
- Carry a reduced, but complex caseload, if required
- Provide monthly supervision to registered and non-registered practitioners and annual appraisal/development discussion
- Provide day-to-day support, advice, and guidance to direct reports and other staff members where required
- Oversight of the Duty function - provide guidance, manage queries, and support escalation
- On call rotation in weekends
- Quality Assurance for any direct reports
- Support Plan validation
- Audits
- Allocations
- Facilitation of Peer Reflective Groups
- Completion of RTW discussions and RTW forms with direct reports
- Interviewing as part of the recruitment process
- Attendance at various meetings
Requirements
You must have a recognised social work qualification and be currently registered with Social Work England. You will also have a minimum of three years post-qualifying practice and experience. Your values will demonstrate excellent social work skills in practice and professional pride.
