About the Role:

RPS is seeking a talented Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, or Newcastle. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for producing detailed design calculations and sketches, liaising with senior engineers and technicians, and working on a variety of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce detailed design calculations and sketches in accordance with project requirements
  • Liaise with senior engineers and technicians regarding design and drawing
  • Work on a variety of projects, including new build and refurbishment construction projects
  • Assist senior staff in feasibility studies, concept, and scheme design stages
  • Attend design team meetings and inspect and report on electrical building services systems
  • Utilize building services software for calculations and ensure design and maintenance of building systems meets legislative and health and safety requirements
  • Produce marked-up drawings for CAD by others or direct CAD design drawings for issue
  • Select and specify products, equipment, and installation standards relating to electrical services suitable for costing and installation by contractors

Requirements:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience commensurate with the underpinning and knowledge requirements for Incorporated Engineer aligned to either IET or CIBSE requirements
  • Ability to design principal electrical systems taken from a concept level of design through to detailed design (BSRIA BG6 Stage 4A)
  • Proficient in the use of Amtech and experienced in viewing and interpreting drawings in AutoCAD
  • Understanding of Building Regulations Part L compliance associated with the systems above
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
