Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, or Newcastle. As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing detailed design calculations and sketches, liaising with senior engineers and technicians, and working on survey, design, specification, and contract administration processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce detailed design calculations and sketches in accordance with project requirements
  • Liaise with senior engineers and technicians regarding design and drawing
  • Work on survey, design, specification, and contract administration processes
  • Carry out detailed electrical building services design engineering on new build and refurbishment construction projects
  • Assist senior staff in feasibility studies, concept, and scheme design stages
  • Attend design team meetings and inspect electrical building services systems
  • Utilize building services software for calculations and ensure design and maintenance of building systems meet legislative and health and safety requirements
  • Produce marked-up drawings for CAD or direct CAD design drawings for issue
  • Select and specify products, equipment, and installation standards relating to electrical services
Requirements
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience commensurate with the underpinning and knowledge requirements for Incorporated Engineer aligned to IET or CIBSE requirements
  • Ability to design principal electrical systems from concept to detailed design
  • Proficient in the use of Amtech and AutoCAD
  • Understanding of building regulations and compliance
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
