About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our team at the Structural Engineering Alliance Group in Manchester. As a critical member of our team, you will be working on a wide range of projects, including theatre buildings, show productions, and outdoor events, as well as the preservation and enhancement of Grade I and Grade II listed buildings.

This is an exciting opportunity to engage in impactful, high-value projects with project costs up to £12m. You will have the chance to work with the latest design software and collaborate with key clients and stakeholders to deliver exceptional results.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of structural designs and manage project teams to ensure timely delivery.
  • Liaise with clients and stakeholders to discuss design and technical solutions.
  • Ensure projects are appropriately resourced and delegate work to team members to monitor progress.
  • Provide support and guidance to junior staff to foster their development and progression.
  • Prepare calculations, drawings, details, specifications, and reports for a wide range of structures and materials.
  • Implement company policies and ensure adherence across your team.
  • Monitor and oversee project budgets and staff resources for projects undertaken.
  • Develop existing customer relationships and promote our services.
  • Assist in achieving targeted revenues from current and new customers.
Requirements
  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng) would be advantageous.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in structural engineering.
  • Proven track record of cost estimation and project management.
  • Prior experience working with historic buildings is highly desirable.
