Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Control, Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer to provide CE&I engineering design capability that supports the NNL CE&I project deliverable commitments. The successful candidate will provide CE&I design support during the installation, testing and commissioning of NNL projects, and support the development of the early careers team and act as a professional engineering ambassador for NNL.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver CE&I Design support to relevant internal and international standards.
  2. Deliver CE&I Design deliverables such as drawings, reports, calculations.
  3. Provide CE&I Support to the commissioning teams.
  4. Identify process improvements and share with Discipline lead Engineer.
  5. Support CE&I design tasks and activities.
  6. Support design reviews, HAZOPS and Project Feedback.
  7. Support the Discipline Lead Engineer in promoting a collaborative approach.
  8. Promote a culture of continuous learning and development with the CE&I design team.
Essential Criteria:
  1. Ability to obtain SC level security clearance.
  2. Degree in an Electrical Engineering discipline or closely related subject together with a good level of design office experience.
  3. Ability to self-manage and work within a multi-discipline projects team.
  4. Experience of working within a design process.
Desirable Criteria:
  1. Experience working in the nuclear sector, together with a working knowledge of Engineering Standards and Site License Conditions.
  2. Proven knowledge and experience of using Sellafield Ltd Engineering Standards in the design process and the Sellafield site drawing registry.
  3. Knowledge and experience in producing EC&I supporting calculations to relevant industry design standards.
  4. Capable of designing safety related systems to BS EN 61508, BS EN ISO.
  5. Knowledge and experience in the substantiation of systems and components designated as safety equipment in a safety case to safety related systems to BS EN 61508, BS EN ISO.
  6. Knowledge of ElectricalOM / AMTECH, Relux / Dialux software.
