About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to champion environmental sustainability at Great Western Railway (GWR) with a focus on air quality and noise management.

You will work in partnership with other areas of the business to ensure environmental best practices are embedded throughout GWR to help shape and achieve the targets outlined in the National Rail Contract.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead the noise and air quality management programs
  • Collate, analyse and monitor data, including from stakeholder feedback
  • Lead environmental improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate the RSSB air quality monitoring project to ensure diffusion tubes are changed according to schedule
  • Support/lead other initiatives to improve environmental air quality and noise
  • Support the Senior Environment Manager in delivering wider environmental and sustainability initiatives as required

Requirements:

  • Member of IEMA or other related professional body, or working towards
  • HND or degree in a science or engineering subject or other environmental discipline

About the Location:

Milford House, Swindon (or other GWR location as agreed), and with travel across the GWR network to be expected. Flexible working options are available

Working Pattern:

37 hours per week
