Join Our Team as a Planner

We are seeking a skilled Planner to join our team at Mackenzie District Council. As a Planner, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our district.

About the Role

This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a wide range of opportunities for growth and development. You will be responsible for processing resource consents, land information memorandums, and project information memorandums. You will also provide planning advice to the public, consultants, and council employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process resource consents and land information memorandums
  • Provide planning advice to the public, consultants, and council employees
  • Assist with the District Plan review and implementation
  • Process project information memorandums
Requirements
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Planning or Resource Management
  • Membership of the New Zealand Planning Institute or eligibility to apply
  • Previous work experience in a planning position is advantageous but not essential
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of and respect for the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi
