About the Role
Mencap is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Relief Support Worker to join our Floating Support team in Rochdale.
As a Relief Support Worker, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities.
You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.
From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you will play a vital role in their life.
Floating Support is a service that supports people in the community, providing assistance with household cleaning, laundry, and other daily tasks.
Each person receives support hours depending on their needs, which may include medication administration, budgeting, socializing, hobbies, personal care, and maintaining their home or tenancy.
The service operates on a flexible schedule, with staff visiting 3 or 4 people we support on each shift.
A good local knowledge of the Rochdale area is required, and a car driver is an advantage but not compulsory.

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities
Contract Options
- Relief Support Worker - flexible hours based on availability
Shift Times
This service is not 24-hour care, and we prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance to allow you to plan your personal and social life.
Shift times are flexible, with days available between 08:00 and 22:00.
