Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Electronic Systems Engineer to join our team at Assystem Energy & Infrastructure in Derby. As a key member of our power systems team, you will be responsible for designing and verifying the power systems that control our plant.

Your expertise in architecture design and verification, including requirements capture and analysis methods, will be essential in ensuring the successful delivery of our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and specify product level requirements for power electronic systems
  • Work with vendors to ensure requirements are met and verify final products against original design requirements
  • Manage requirements, including traceability, through product maturity gates
  • Review and approve design intent documentation
  • Support shipbuilder/vendor build and commissioning issue resolution/documentation
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent in an electronics engineering discipline
  • Member or related professional engineering institution (e.g. The IET)
  • Experience in architecture design and V&V, including requirements capture/analysis methods
  • Background in power electronics to enable an intelligent customer relationship

Desirable skills include experience of using requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS), being a proactive and autonomous individual who can work with the supply chain and various disciplines, and knowledge of motor design.

Security Clearance

This role requires the successful candidate to hold a minimum of a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Due to the nature of work this role will be delivering and for the protection of certain assets, the successful candidate has to be a UK national or in MoD approved cases a Dual National from a non-ITAR country.
