Job Overview

Assystem, a leading international company, is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Systems Design Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. As a key member of our Power Systems team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems that control plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical systems, including power electronics, to meet plant requirements
  • Specify product-level requirements and collaborate with vendors to ensure compliance
  • Verify final products against original design requirements
  • Manage requirements, including traceability, through product maturity gates
  • Review and approve design intent documentation
  • Support shipbuilder/vendor build and commissioning issue resolution/documentation
Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electronics Engineering or related field
  • Member of a professional engineering institution (e.g., The IET)
  • Experience in architecture design and verification, including requirements capture/analysis methods
  • Background in power electronics for effective customer relationships

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS)
  • Proactive and autonomous individual with supply chain and discipline collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of motor design
Security Clearance

This role requires a minimum Security Check (SC) clearance without caveats. Due to the nature of the work, the successful candidate must be a UK national or hold a MoD-approved dual nationality from a non-ITAR country.
