Job Title: Child Wellbeing Officer

Midland Mencap is seeking a dedicated Child Wellbeing Officer to join our Family Wellbeing Service team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in identifying and supporting families who provide unpaid care to individuals with disabilities and illnesses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Statutory Carers Assessments and Wellbeing Assessments to assess the wellbeing of unpaid carers.
  • Provide quality information, advice, and guidance to identify engaging outcomes leading to improved wellbeing.
  • Work with a wide range of partners and stakeholders to assess and review the wellbeing of unpaid carers.
  • Embrace person-centred and user-led approaches, with citizen consultation and co-production at the heart of the role.
  • Support the marketing and promotion of the service and Birmingham Carers Hub offer to unpaid carers and potential referral agencies.
  • Participate in regular reviews of activities and casework, ensuring good quality risk assessments and person-centred wellbeing plans are in place.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with unpaid carers and families with children, young people, or adults with illness or disabilities.
  • Ability to identify and act upon safeguarding issues in relation to multi-agency guidelines.
  • Understanding of the barriers facing unpaid carers, especially those from hard-to-reach backgrounds.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to Midland Mencap's policies and procedures.
