About the Role:



We are seeking a highly skilled Python Backend Engineer to join our team at Upscale Labs in London. As a key member of our founding team, you will be responsible for expanding and maintaining our public API, building out our 3D asset data ingestion pipeline, and managing our AWS infrastructure for our 3D asset search, automated 3D tagging, and generative 3D model products.



Responsibilities:




  • Design and implement a scalable 3D data ingestion pipeline using Python and relevant libraries.
  • Develop and deploy Python scripts for automation of tasks related to 3D data processing and management.
  • Expand and document our public API (FastAPI) including writing tests to ensure correctness and robustness.
  • Manage the deployment of our Public API in AWS, ensuring scalability and building tooling for monitoring its usage and robustness.
  • Collaborate with our Machine Learning team by preparing and curating training datasets.
  • Develop tooling to coordinate and manage internal data labelling exercises.
  • Design an evaluation framework to assess the accuracy of various machine learning methods and facilitate performance tuning.


Requirements:




  • Excellent practical software engineering ability with fluency in Python and experience with 3D data processing pipelines.
  • Proficiency in 3D Python libraries such as open3D and Blender.
  • Expertise in automation, CI/CD, DevOps, MLOps, monitoring, and cloud computing tooling (AWS).
  • A close attention to detail, a passion for building high-quality systems, and ability to work autonomously.
  • Bonus points if you have knowledge of deep learning, computer vision systems, or language models.
  • Bonus points if you have experience with SQL or code for gaming engines like Unreal Engine, Unity, or Blender.
