Job Title: Special Education Support Assistant

About the Role:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Support Assistant to join our team at an Ofsted-rated 'Good' primary school in Bradford. As a Special Education Support Assistant, you will work closely with experienced teachers and support staff to provide tailored support to students with a range of needs, including ADHD, SEMH, and other additional needs.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with learners with complex needs, possess excellent behaviour management techniques, and be able to build rapport with young children who may be disengaged with education. You will also need to be committed to working at the school for an extended period to establish strong relationships with the students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with a range of needs, including ADHD, SEMH, and other additional needs
  • Develop and implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive student outcomes
  • Build strong relationships with students, teachers, and support staff to ensure seamless communication and collaboration
  • Provide individualized support to students to help them access the curriculum and achieve their full potential
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)

Requirements:

  • GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths
  • Experience working with learners with complex needs
  • Excellent behaviour management techniques
  • Ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and support staff
  • Commitment to working at the school for an extended period
