We are seeking a highly skilled SAIS Inspector to join our team at Schindler Group. As a SAIS Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and quality of our lifts and escalators.

About the Role

The SAIS Inspector will be responsible for inspecting and testing new or modernized lifts and escalators/moving walks to ensure they meet the Schindler Acceptance and Inspection Standard (SAIS). This will involve performing defined tests, measuring, checking, and comparing with acceptance criteria, and recording and documenting results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect lifts and escalators/moving walks according to SAIS requirements
  • Re-inspect in case of non-conformities
  • Confirm if the Declaration of Conformity can be issued
  • Coach installation teams during inspection process
  • Ensure all tasks are performed in a safe manner
  • Provide technical support to NI/MOD or EI as requested
  • Assist with Retrofit actions as requested
  • Ensure periodic inspections of existing installations in accordance with Group requirements
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience within the lift and escalator industry as a qualified installation or maintenance engineer
  • Previous experience working with commodity lifts, escalators/moving walks, and custom lifts
  • Extensive product knowledge and sufficient electrical and mechanical skills
  • Practical and theoretical knowledge of safety components, safety relevant subsystems, and relevant codes and standards
