Job Title: Senior Hardware Engineer

Leonardo is seeking a highly skilled Senior Hardware Engineer to join our Radar and Advanced Targeting line of business in Edinburgh. As a key member of our Test Engineering discipline, you will be responsible for delivering EMC test engineering tasks and managing our UKAS accredited test facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct EMC test and facility management tasks to defence and aviation standards.
  • Work with internal and external customers to deliver test engineering tasks.
  • Manage laboratory operations, including safety, health, and environment duties.
  • Perform test equipment asset management and drive implementation of a lean 5S workspace.
  • Administer EMC facility capital and minor capital budget/spend.
  • Write and peer review test reports and procedures.
  • Participate in facility audits and ensure test readiness for customers.
Requirements:
  • Degree qualified in Electronics, Physics, or relevant subject.
  • EMC test experience to MIL-STD-461, DO-160, and EFA EMC Specification.
  • Familiarity with EMC and RF measurement test equipment.
  • Effective communication skills and experience in customer-facing roles.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems and laboratory accreditation.
