Key Responsibilities:- Manage and develop services for children and young people, including holiday playschemes, after-school activities, community events, and youth advisory boards.
- Provide line management and supervision for staff, ensuring they have the necessary support and resources to deliver high-quality services.
- Oversee contracted partners working with us under service level agreements, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
- Develop and implement project plans for future service delivery, prioritizing fundraising and resource allocation.
- Ensure that children and young people are at the heart of our services, amplifying their voices and promoting their participation in decision-making processes.
- Work closely with other departments within The Springfield Project, ensuring a joined-up approach to addressing whole family wellbeing and improving outcomes for children and young people.
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with local organizations, including schools, health services, and community groups.
- Promote the principles of child-friendly neighbourhoods and showcase our work to stakeholders, highlighting the value of our services in improving the lives of children and young people.
- Proven experience in managing services for children and young people, with a strong understanding of child-centred approaches.
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and support staff.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Knowledge of child safeguarding procedures and policies, with a commitment to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children at all times.
The post holder will be expected to work within the context of The Springfield Project, understanding our values and principles as an organization. They will be a member of our staff team, attending staff meetings and training days as necessary.
The post holder will adhere to our Equal Opportunities Policy, actively promoting services to meet the needs of disadvantaged and minority groups.
The post holder will work within our Safeguarding Procedures, which are informed by the policy and procedures of the Birmingham Safeguarding Board. They will be expected to undertake Child Safeguarding training and act as Designated Safeguarding Lead.
The post holder will be required to obtain and/or process information held on paper or electronic records in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998/2018 and the requirements of our policies.
The post holder will be expected to work within our statutory and organizational health and safety requirements.
