We are seeking highly skilled researchers to join our team at the University of Glasgow's Centre for Sustainable Healthy Learning Cities. The centre is one of 37 major projects funded by the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) Research Councils UK Collective Fund, aiming to build upon research knowledge in the UK and strengthen capacity overseas to address challenges in developing countries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comparative studies of urbanisation and neighbourhood formation in cities in Africa and Asia
  • Develop and implement research projects on education and health policies in developing countries
  • Apply quantitative and qualitative research methods, including social survey, spatial analysis, GIS, and Big Data
  • Contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications and proposals
  • Help manage and direct the project as opportunities allow

The post-holders will work closely with the centre's team to address challenges associated with large-scale rural-to-urban migration in Africa and Asia. The successful candidates will have a strong background in education, health, or urban studies, and experience in research and analysis.

Requirements
  • Expert knowledge in education, health, or urban studies in relation to developing countries
  • Strong research and analytical skills, including quantitative and qualitative methods
  • Experience in working with Big Data and GIS
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
