About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Neonatal Nurse to join our Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) team at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of our unit's goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver effective and sensitive evidence-based care to patients at all times.
  • Act as a role model to junior members of the team, promoting a culture of excellence and professionalism.
  • Assess patient needs, plan and implement individualized holistic nursing care.
  • Advocate for patients and advise colleagues on matters concerning nursing care.
  • Play an active role in health promotion activities and ensure compliance with Trust policies and procedures.
  • Ensure standards recommended by professional bodies, such as the NMC, are adhered to and upheld within the unit.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse Adult or Child qualification.
  • Qualified in Speciality (Neonates), ENB 405 or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years post-registration experience on a neonatal unit at Band 5.
  • Evidence of Neonatal Advanced Life Support training.
  • Evidence of Standard of Student Supervision & Assessment training.
  • Experience of supporting and teaching junior colleagues.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
  • Participation in a leadership programme, such as Edward Jenner or Mary Seacole.
  • ENB 997/8 or relevant teaching qualification.
  • Participant or willingness to take on project work as lead or active participant.
  • Evidence of Appraisal training.
