Salary and Benefits

The salary for this Principal Powertrain Software Engineer role is up to £80,000 per annum. Job Description

This exciting opportunity awaits for a skilled engineer to play a leading role in e-drive and power electronics controls as we advance electrification efforts in the automotive sector. Working within a UK-based R&D team, this Senior Powertrain Software Engineering Lead role focuses on developing intelligent control systems for next-generation electrified powertrains.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimise e-drive and power electronics control systems in line with project objectives.
  • Specify diagnostics, CAN communication, and safety monitoring strategies.
  • Conduct testing and validation on electrical test benches, HiL, and vehicle platforms.
  • Oversee technical aspects of supplier delivery to ensure project milestones.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic, Control Systems Engineering or a related field.
  • Highly experienced in real-time embedded control systems, ideally with automotive experience.
  • Strong background in e-drive control software and power electronics, with proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Experience with data logging and calibration tools.
  • Knowledge of system engineering practices and automotive software quality standards.
  • Ability to travel periodically for development trips and supplier visits.
