About the Role:

Polaris Community is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team. As a Senior Residential Childcare Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people within our care to develop emotional resilience and achieve their full potential.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Complete key domestic duties to maintain a homely environment
  • Encourage the development of individual interests and attitudes through planned activities
  • Assess individual needs and contribute to care and risk plans
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with young people
  • Manage behaviour positively and assertively
  • Consult with young people to promote healthy lifestyles
  • Motivate and assist young people in developing positive networks
  • Participate in the development and review of packages of care
  • Attend and advocate for young people in child care reviews

Requirements:

  • Understanding and commitment to the role, including 24/7 availability
  • Experience supporting vulnerable young people
  • Ability to work independently and maintain accurate records
  • Good interpersonal skills and team player
  • Intermediate computer experience
  • Empathetic nature and good communication skills
  • Ability to engage and motivate young people
