Job Description:

This role involves providing support to students with SEMH needs, working closely with teaching staff to create a positive learning environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with mental health issues and challenging behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. To implement IEPs and Behaviour Support Plans, monitoring student progress and making adjustments as necessary.
  2. To collaborate with colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive environment, promoting academic and personal development.
  3. To provide one-on-one and small group support for students with challenging behaviour, using effective strategies to ensure their safety and well-being.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent, demonstrating expertise in supporting students with SEMH needs.
  • Experience working with mental health issues and challenging behaviour, showcasing a strong understanding of support strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues and students.
  • Calm and patient approach, even in challenging situations, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
