We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join our Assessment Team in North Somerset Children's Social Care. The successful candidate will work alongside the Front Door, undertaking new section 47 investigations and assessments as identified.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to immediate safeguarding concerns and conduct visits to family homes, schools, and nurseries.
- Complete work within statutory guidance, with support from a line manager.
- Support the Front Door in triaging referrals and other areas as needed.
- Undertake short-term intervention work, making long-term plans and decisions for children and young people.
- Qualified Social Worker with a passion for working with children and families.
- Sound knowledge of relevant childcare legislation, including 'Working Together to Safeguard Children' and fostering regulations.
- Ability to build effective relationships with children, young people, and families.
North Somerset Council is committed to providing a supportive and creative work environment. The successful candidate will have a manageable caseload, high-quality reflective supervision, and the opportunity to work with a strong and consistent senior management team.
This role is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and requires an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. A valid driving license and own transport, or alternative suitable method of travel, are essential conditions for this role.
