We are seeking a highly skilled Security Architect to join our team at The Scottish Government. As a key member of our Digital Risk & Security Branch, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing robust security measures to protect our organization's data and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain our security architecture strategy, principles, and patterns to address emerging threats.
- Manage and update our security baseline controls to define security control requirements for our information systems and data.
- Design and implement effective security solutions to secure our organization's data and systems.
- Provide specialist security advice and recommend approaches across teams and stakeholders.
- Identify and evaluate security tools and technology required for the agency.
- Advise on important security-related technologies and assess the risk associated with proposed changes.
- Contribute to cyber assurance maturity assessments and other industry, private sector, or local audit/compliance activities.
- Support the development of business cases for investment to improve IT security controls.
- Ensure the maintenance of security risks on our organizational risk register.
- Support the liaison with supply chain partners' security managers to obtain assurance of their security controls.
- A competitive salary between £71,243 plus a £5,000 annual Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) pay supplement after a 3-month qualifying period.
- Flexible working arrangements with potential for up to 4 days off per month.
- An annual leave allowance of 5 weeks, rising to 6 weeks after 4 years, plus 11.5 public and privilege holidays.
