Senior Project Planner

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Planner to join our team at Laing O'Rourke. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring the project programme and controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership for the planning and coordination processes.
  • Implement and maintain the requirements of the Project Business Plan.
  • Ensure that all programmes are compliant with the Project requirements.
  • Communicate the construction strategy and any recommended improvements.
  • Provide leadership, support, and training, and contribute to career development.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, partners, and the supply chain for all time-related information.
  • Develop, maintain, and update the Contract Programme and Programme to Build in accordance with the project requirements.
  • Provide strategic programmes – tender, procurement, design, construction, short term.
  • Report on progress and issues with advice on mitigation.
  • Provide leadership, support, and training, and contribute to career development.
  • Coordinate with internal customers – commercial, design, customer care, and construction.
  • Responsible for the delivery of planning and coordination processes.
  • Commercial advice/implications on production/programme issues.
Requirements
  • Leading the planning and controls function on a project (medium – high complexity).
  • Project management systems and techniques.
  • Resource management, staff development, and coaching.
  • Planning experience at a senior level – leading a team and interfacing with the client essential.
  • Implementing robust project controls, accurate reporting, and forecasting.
  • Able to manage a team as well as own work.
  • Quality and accuracy of work to be of the highest calibre.
  • Able to ascertain which tasks are urgent or important and level of accuracy required.
  • Lateral thinker to spot trends/issues in production data.
