QA Director

We're seeking a seasoned QA professional to lead our team at Hypixel Studios, a remote-first organization with a diverse and passionate team. As QA Director, you will be responsible for guiding the team towards shipping high-quality products with a focus on building sustainable systems and mechanisms to ensure quality and stability across the Hytale experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and continuously evolve a robust test strategy to meet quality benchmarks across all areas of the project.
  • Develop and maintain effective test processes and reporting.
  • Hire, mentor, and develop QA team members, fostering long-term growth and expertise within the department.
  • Balance the needs of the studio, game, and players with the capacity and health of the QA department.
  • Coordinate and set expectations for internal teams, external partners, and remote developers involved in all QA, QC, and test activities.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years experience managing a QA team.
  • Experience administering and overseeing bug tracking and test management tools.
  • Understanding of the importance and maintenance of all forms of testing within the development cycle of games.
  • ISTQB certified or have similar certifications/training.
Bonus Traits:
  • Automation testing setup and execution.
  • Experience integrating QA into Agile software development teams.
  • 5+ years as a member of a AAA game team.
