Senior QA Analyst

We're seeking a skilled Senior QA Analyst to collaborate with our remote team at Hypixel Studios. As a key member of our Feature Team, you'll be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of our player-focused, community-powered games.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Communicate risks and execute quality practices independently
  • Conduct quality planning and drive quality transparency across application/game areas
  • Mentor others within QA on quality aspects and provide impactful testing support
  • Help improve QA processes by utilizing your knowledge in quality areas
Teamwork & Collaboration:

Gathering QA requirements from others and maintaining commitment to these collaborations is crucial. Effective communication of complex topics, tailored to various audiences, is essential, along with advising on QA best practices and strategies.

Estimation and Planning:

Structuring work, assisting in test planning for a work group, and moderating complex tasks are key. Making dependencies clear and managing them for small projects is vital.

Test Plans:

Development, mentoring, and reviewing of test plans are central tasks, with a focus on understanding how features and testing activities impact the overall scope of your area.

Test Cases:

Using both team and player data, as well as an understanding of FURPS, effective test cases are crafted from test scenarios to provide coverage for the Feature Team. The results and health of the build can then be communicated with the team, prioritizing issues or unexpected behaviors accordingly and escalating identified risks.

Risk Assessments:

Creating, updating, and mentoring on risk assessments, alongside reviewing others' work and making connections to the impact on quality, are core responsibilities. Additionally, advising on risk mitigation and escalation is crucial.

  • Experience with testing across multiple platforms
  • Experience working on voxel world games and/or sandbox games
  • Experience working on Games-as-a-Service (GaaS)
  • ISTQB certified or have similar certifications/training
