Job Title: Principal Flood Risk Modeller


About the Role


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Flood Risk Modeller to join our Flooding and Water Management Team. As a leading consultant in the water sector, we provide innovative solutions to address the complex challenges of flood risk management.


The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical direction to the team's modellers and ensuring the quality of flood risk modelling deliverables. This will involve working on a variety of flood risk assessments, EIAs, flood risk management and alleviation schemes across the UK, for infrastructure/utilities and development schemes in both the public and private sectors.


The role will also involve acting as a mentor for team members, providing technical guidance and supervising their deliverables. If you have significant experience in hydraulic modelling, a strong understanding of UK hydrology and open channel hydraulics, and knowledge of standard hydraulic modelling packages, we would like to hear from you.


Key Responsibilities



  • Provide technical direction to the team's modellers
  • Ensure the quality of flood risk modelling deliverables
  • Work on a variety of flood risk assessments, EIAs, flood risk management and alleviation schemes
  • Act as a mentor for team members
  • Provide technical guidance and supervise deliverables

Requirements



  • Significant experience in hydraulic modelling
  • Strong understanding of UK hydrology and open channel hydraulics
  • Knowledge of standard hydraulic modelling packages
  • Chartered status from an appropriate institution (C.Eng or C.WEM)
  • MSc/MEng and/or PhD in a relevant subject
