About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Flood Risk Management team in South Wales. As a Graduate Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting our team in understanding, predicting, and managing flood risks to people, property, critical infrastructure, and the environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake technical work including hydraulic modelling, data analysis, GIS, and technical reporting.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of flood risk management principles and practices.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver projects and programmes for essential future infrastructure.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative solutions to complex flood risk management challenges.
Requirements
  • A strong academic background in a relevant field, such as environmental science, geography, or a related discipline.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in GIS packages such as ArcGIS, MapInfo, or QGIS.
  • Awareness of the environmental risks and opportunities of flood risk and climate change.
