Key Responsibilities:
  • Research and analyze changing tax legislation in the UK and overseas
  • Meet with clients and gather information
  • Work with tax law and revenue provisions
  • Liaise and negotiate with HMRC on behalf of clients
  • Create tax strategies for clients and plan their financial futures
  • Carry out detailed computations to calculate tax liability and advise on how to minimize a client's liability
  • Establish and structure family trusts
  • Provide guidance on indirect taxation issues such as VAT, custom planning, and environmental taxes
What to Expect:
  • Work in a team environment and independently
  • Local travel within a working day for client visits
  • Absence from home at night occasionally needed
  • Working hours are 7.5 hours per day (37.5 hours a week excluding lunch)
  • The firm is based in Chester
  • 24 days holiday per annum plus special terms for the Christmas period

Qualifications:
  • CTA qualified preferred, but not essential

  • Knowledge in corporate tax, international and inheritance tax, national insurance, personal tax, trust and estates, and VAT

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, negotiation skills, planning and organization skills, problem-solving skills, time management, and attention to detail
