The Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive Data Engineer to join our team. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support our genomic analysis platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Implement Scalable Data Pipelines: Develop and deploy data pipelines that can handle large volumes of genomic data, ensuring high performance and scalability.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with our Research Software Engineers and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and deployment of our platform.
- Improve Quality and Scalability: Continuously monitor and improve the quality and scalability of our processes, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of our organization.
- Cloud Deployment and Management: Help maintain the cloud deployment of our platform, ensuring it is secure, efficient, and scalable.
- Technology Selection and Adoption: Contribute to the selection and adoption of new technologies that will support the future growth and development of our platform.
Requirements:
- Strong Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python development and experience with workflow tools such as Nextflow, Argo, and Prefect.
- Cloud Computing Experience: Experience with Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Scientific Data Experience: Familiarity with scientific data, particularly genomic data, and experience working with large datasets.
- Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Message Queues and Event Streaming: Familiarity with message queues and event streaming technologies.
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Experience: Experience working with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
