Job Title: Deputy Home Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Home Manager to join our team at Hatched Recruitment Group.

Job Purpose

The Deputy Home Manager will play a key role in the delivery of a high-quality service that meets the emotional and developmental needs of children and young people. You will be responsible for assessing their needs and encouraging behavioural and/or relational change through proactive and positive interaction.

You will support the Registered Manager in the delivery of a safe and stimulating environment, ensuring that the physical environment is well-maintained and health and safety matters are resolved promptly.

Responsibilities
  1. Manage the physical environment, ensuring repairs and renewals are carried out promptly and health and safety matters are resolved.
  2. Assist the Registered Manager with management of the home and deputise in their absence, commensurate with the grade.
  3. Encourage and foster a commitment to continuous personal and professional growth and skills.
  4. Supervise and appraise staff in line with associated policies and procedures, including participation in recruitment, selection, induction, training and support processes as required.
  5. Manage and oversee care planning and risk management within the home and community, ensuring individual care plans are developed, delivered and evaluated.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to hold a minimum NVQ Diploma Level 3 in Residential Child Care and the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare. You will also need to have at least 2 years' experience relevant to residential care in the last 5 years.

You will need to demonstrate strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct staff. You will also need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, young people, and staff.

We are committed to supporting the development of our staff, and we will fund your studies if you do not already hold the required diplomas. You will need to achieve Level 5 within a reasonable period, normally 2 years after starting work.
