Job Summary:
The NHS is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Clinical Networks to lead and manage the Cheshire and Mersey Adult Critical Care and Major Trauma Specialised Clinical Networks. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and oversight of the networks, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the core SSCN team to deliver an annual work plan aligned to the SSCN Specification and national and local regional needs and priorities.
- Facilitate cross-organisational engagement and activity to develop services and care in a consistent and equitable manner.
- Create a climate of innovation and improvement, leading to the delivery of safer, higher-quality patient-centred care.
- Ensure the network team is equipped to provide objective, specialist expertise and advice to support provider Trusts in service delivery, improvement, and coordination of commissioned pathways.
Requirements:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent within a clinical discipline.
- Master's level qualification or equivalent.
- Robust evidence of sustained continuing professional development across a range of clinical, professional, operational, and strategic fields of practice.
- Previous experience within critical care or major trauma services at senior clinical, professional/operational management level.
- Previously held network role.
- Proven delivery of strategic leadership at an organisational or network level.
- Extended post-registration higher-level clinical and operational management experience.
- Evidence of preparing and implementing business and operational plans and informing the wider strategic service development at a local and wider cross-organisational/ regional level.
- Demonstrates ability to influence, develop, and use effective professional networks.
- Demonstrable evidence of successful operational and business planning and subsequent service delivery and evaluation.
- Extensive experience in staff and performance management and dealing with complex issues.
- Management and leadership of staff from a range of clinical and professional backgrounds.
- Knowledge of organisational and system activity performance management principles and practice.
- Ability to initiate, lead, manage, and implement complex change to improve services to patients.
- Demonstrates evidence of innovation and improvement in the provision of services.
- Ability to use skills in facilitation to collaborate and engage multiple stakeholders to inform and introduce service improvement.
- Proven implementation of quality and service improvement and project management methodologies.
- Evidence of the ability to make operational judgements involving highly complex facts and situations.
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate, challenging, complex, and sensitive information.
- Ability to apply advanced communication skills in a variety of settings, including situations where information relayed may be challenged or disputed.
- Advanced people skills.
- Excellent influencing and negotiating skills across wider systems and networks.
- Experience in managing budgets and controlling resources.
- Ability to analyse highly complex data and produce written reports.
- Ability to travel across sites.
- Experience in managing and delivering projects across a wide range of services.
