Swansea, City and County of Swansea, United Kingdom Industry Placements Full time
Career Opportunity

We are seeking a talented Civil Engineer to join our Graduate Programme in Electricity Distribution. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering projects safely, on time, and to a high standard.

Your primary focus will be on the operation and maintenance of the 132kV electricity network, including overhead lines, underground cables, and substations. You will also be involved in the asset replacement programme, network reinforcement, and new connections from 11kV to 132kV.

As a Graduate Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from planning and design to construction and commissioning. You will be based at one of our Project Teams offices, but will spend a significant proportion of your time working on site across the dedicated distribution licence area.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a team, and have a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles. You will also need to be able to identify training needs and provide training to other team members.

We offer a competitive salary of £34,895, as well as a range of benefits, including a £2,000 bonus, 26 days holiday, and up to £200 per month accommodation allowance. We also offer a tailored development programme to help you progress your career.

Assessment centres will be held in Taunton, and we are looking for candidates who are passionate about a career in electricity distribution and have a strong academic background in a relevant discipline.

We are proud to be a part of the National Grid team, working together to deliver a greener future for everyone. If you are a motivated and ambitious individual who is looking for a challenging and rewarding career, we would love to hear from you.
