About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled OT/IT Solution Architect to join our team at Capgemini Engineering. As a key member of our organization, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge solutions that integrate Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) systems.

Your primary responsibility will be to leverage your deep understanding of both domains to build secure, scalable, and reliable architectures that meet the specific needs of our business. You will work closely with stakeholders across various departments to understand business needs and ensure technical solutions align with strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and architect integrated OT solutions, utilizing technologies like Digital Twins, IoT applications, and Industrial Protocols (OPC UA, MQTT).
  • Select and configure appropriate Azure or AWS services based on project requirements.
  • Develop and implement Python scripts and Virtual Machines to automate tasks and optimize processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and ensure technical solutions align with strategic goals.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in OT/IT convergence and emerging technologies.
  • Document technical solutions and procedures clearly and concisely.
  • Present technical findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
  • Strong experience of performing a solution architecture role within an engineering, OT, manufacturing or telecommunications environment.
  • Strong knowledge and application of Industry 4.0 technologies such as IoT, analytics, AR/VR, asset tracking solutions, cyber security, digital twins, digital control towers etc.
  • Technically leading complex projects throughout their complete lifecycle from requirements capture to handover and knowledge transfer.
  • Experience of working within a large-scale organisation, able to work as part of a team, excellent organisations and time keeping skills, strong written and verbal skills.
  • Experience in business transformation projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in OT and IT environments.
  • Strong understanding of Industrial Automation and control systems.
  • Expertise in OT network protocols (Modbus, Profinet, Profibus, OPCUA, MQTT).
  • Experience with cloud platforms like Azure and AWS.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Security Clearance

To be successfully appointed to this role, you will need to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks. There are no nationality or residency restrictions, although if you have resided outside of the UK within the last 3 years, further checks may be required.
