Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist Podiatrist to join our team at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering complex packages of care to patients with a wide range of musculoskeletal pathologies.
Main Duties
The Specialist Podiatrist will manage a clinical caseload of patients with complex MSK needs, using evidence-based, patient-centered principles. This will involve assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating podiatric interventions in community settings and other settings, including secondary care.
The Specialist Podiatrist will also be responsible for formulating simple and complex orthotic prescriptions and providing accurate manufacture data to the workshop. Additionally, they will work autonomously to provide expert advice to patients, carers, and clinicians, using podiatric assessment and diagnosis to facilitate optimal clinical outcomes.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Podiatrist to join our dynamic team and contribute to the delivery of our specialist MSK service. The successful candidate will be expected to develop to the All Wales MSK competency standard A & B, while being supported by the wider experienced MSK team.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have a BSc (Hons) in Podiatric Medicine or equivalent, Local Anaesthesia Annotation, HCPC Registration, and Prescription only medicines Annotation - A & S. They will also have postgraduate NHS experience and be able to work autonomously to provide expert advice to patients, carers, and clinicians.
