Job summary
To support the MSK service in the delivery of complex packages of care to patients of ABUHB who present with an extensive range ofmusculoskeletal pathologies.Provide autonomous assessment and development of specialist care plans for a wide range of patients with both routine and diverse andcomplex health problems including; MSK pathology, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, neurological problems, circulatory deficits andimmunosuppression, using a range of diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.
Main duties of the job
Manage a clinical caseload of patients with complex MSK needs using evidence based, patient centred principles. To assess, plan,implement and evaluate podiatric interventions in community settings and other setting including secondary care as Formulate simple and complex orthotic prescriptions and provide accurate manufacture data to the workshop in conjunction with thedepartment time frames and 'All Wales' orthotic formulary and where necessary manufacture or adjust orthotic devises against Work autonomously to provide expert advice to patients, carers and clinicians. This will involve podiatric assessment and diagnosis,understanding how specific morbidities, co morbidities and pathology present their manifestations within the foot, ankle and lower limb andthrough thoughtful, robust and prudent care planning, facilitate optimal clinical outcomes.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Band 6 Specialist Musculoskeletal Podiatrist to join our advanced, innovative and dynamic team here in ABUHB.
This role forms an integral part of the Podiatry & Orthotics service and will assist in the delivery of our specialist MSK service across the health board. As a band 6, the successful candidate will be expected to develop to the All Wales MSK competency standard A & B, whilst being supported by the wider experienced MSK team.
